What are Interview Kits?
Every interview you conduct is customized according to the seafarer’s rank. As an employer you can custom build the structure of your interviews with Interview Kits.
There are a few things to know about Interview Kits before starting:
- You can create as many Interview Kits as you need.
- You can include as much or as little criteria as you like, depending on the position.
- If a candidate has previously worked for you in the same rank you can set it so they skip the interview process.
To get started log in to your Martide account. Click on your profile picture in the top right hand corner. You will see a drop down menu: click Settings. You will now see a number of icons. Click Interview Kits:

You will then see this page:

Here you can:
- Look for a current Interview Kit in the search bar.
- Edit or delete a current Interview Kit
- Add a new Interview Kit.
Adding a new Interview Kit
To create a new Interview Kit click the blue Add button on the top left. You will be taken to this page:

Here you can:
- Name your Interview Kit - for example Able Seaman.
- Select the rank from the drop down menu. (Note that this won’t affect anything - it’s just for you to use as a ‘memo’.)
- Add Sections to your Interview Kit. (More on that below.)

How to add sections to your Interview Kit
Now you need to:
- Add a Section by clicking the +Add Section button.
The page will expand and you will see this:

Here you can:
- Name that Section of the interview. Sections refer to the different parts of the interview. e.g. Experience, Personality, Technical Knowledge.
- Set whether you want that part of the interview to be conducted remotely or in person.
- Add a question you want the candidate to answer.
How to add questions to an Interview Kit
- Questions refer to the questions within each Section.
- To add a question click the blue + Add Question button.
- Type your question into the box.
- To delete a question click the trash can icon above it.

When you've added as many questions as you want to ask about the candidate’s experience you can add another Section and its relevant questions:
- To add a Section click the blue + Add Section button.
- To delete a Section click the trash can icon above it.

This will open up another Section below the first. Give this Section a name - in our example it’s Personality - and add your questions:

- When you’re done adding Sections and Questions click the blue Save button.
- Your Interview Kit is now visible on the main page and in the corresponding Recruitment Pipeline.
How to edit an Interview Kit
On the main Interview Kits page find the Interview Kit you want to edit by scrolling down the page or using the Search bar. Click Edit next to the entry you want to change:

You’ll be taken to a page that the same as when you created a new entry:

Here you can:
- Change the Interview Kit’s name.
- Select a new Rank using the drop down box.
- Rename, delete or add Sections.
- Change, delete or add Questions within a Section.
- Click the blue Save button when you’re done.
How to delete an Interview Kit
To delete an Interview Kit that’s already in the system, on the main Interview Kits page click Delete next to the entry you want to remove.

Note that if the Interview Kit is in use, you will not be able to delete it and you will see a pop-up warning:
