This is a guide to creating your seafarer User Profile so that you can quickly and easily apply for Martide's jobs at sea.

Where to find your User Profile

To get started, log in to your Martide account.

The first page you see will be your User Profile. It will be empty if you haven't added your details yet. In our example below, our seafarer has added his details so his page looks like this:

The different sections in your User Profile

Your profile page is broken down into sections:

A couple of these sections are automatically filled in. Most sections let you add information to them. Below is an explanation of each section.

Lead Source

This section is automatically filled in. You do not need to do anything.

Work Summary

This section is automatically filled in. You do not need to do anything.

Work Experience

  • Add, change and delete your previous jobs and upload your CV.
  • To add a new job click +Add position at the bottom of the section.
  • To change a job, click the pen icon and it will open the job in a pop-up box so you can edit it.
  • To delete a job, click the pen icon and scroll to the bottom of the pop-up box and click Delete.
  • To upload your CV click the pen icon next to CV at the bottom of the section.

Education

  • Add, change and delete your education.
  • To add a new school/degree click +Add school at the bottom of the section.
  • To change a school/degree, click the pen icon and it will open a pop-up box where you can edit it.
  • To delete a school/degree, click the pen icon and scroll to the bottom of the pop-up box and click Delete.

Personal Info

  • To upload your profile picture, click on the camera icon in the circle at the top of the page:

  • In the Personal Info section you can enter and change your personal information including your name, status (looking or not looking for work), phone number, date and place of birth, gender, rank, and nearest airport.
  • To add or change your information, click the pen icon and add or change the details in the pop-up box.

Address

  • Add, change and delete your address or addresses.
  • To add a new address click the pen icon and then +Add an address in the pop-up box.
  • To change an address click the pen icon and change it in the pop-up box.
  • To delete an address click the pen icon and click the trash can icons in the pop-up box.

Special Skills

  • Add, change and delete any special skills that set you apart from other candidates.
  • To add a new skill click +Add special skill at the bottom of the section.
  • To change a skill click the pen icon and edit it in the pop-up box.
  • To delete a skill click the pen icon and select Delete in the pop-up box.

Physical Specifications

  • Add and change information about your physical specifications.
  • To enter or change details, click the pen icon and enter or change them in the pop-up box.

Emergency Contacts

  • Add or change the details of your emergency contact and your next of kin.
  • To enter or change the contact(s) click the pen icon and add or change the details in the pop-up box.

Preferences

  • Add and change information about the type of job/contract you're looking for.
  • To enter or change details, click the pen icon and enter or change them in the pop-up box.

Language

  • Add, change and delete the languages you can speak and your proficiency in them.
  • To add a new language click the pen icon and click +Add language in the pop-up box.
  • To change a language (if your skill level has changed) click the pen icon and update it in the pop-up box.
  • To delete a language (if you've forgotten how to speak it) click the pen icon, and click the trash can icon next to it in the pop-up box.

Social Media

  • Add, change and delete your social media accounts.
  • To add a new account click the pen icon and +Add social media at the bottom of the pop-up box.
  • To change an account click the pen icon and change the details in the pop-up box.
  • To delete an account click the pen icon and click the trash can icon next to it in the pop-up box.

Bank Details

  • Add, change and delete your bank details.
  • To add a bank account click the pen icon then +Add bank account at the bottom of the pop-up box.
  • To change a bank account click the pen icon.
  • To delete a bank account app click the pen icon and click the trash can icon next to the bank in the pop-up box.

Medical Documents

  • Add, change and delete your professional documents.
  • To add a new document click +Add document at the bottom of the section.
  • To change a document click the pen icon next to it and edit the details in the pop-up box.
  • To delete a document app click the pen icon and click Delete in the pop-up box.

Visas

  • Add, change and delete your visas.
  • To add a new visa click +Add visa at the bottom of the section.
  • To change a visa click the pen icon and make the changes in the pop-up box.
  • To delete a visa app click the pen icon and select Delete in the pop-up box.

  • Add, change and delete your licenses.

Flag State

Travel

  • Add, change and delete your travel documents.
  • To add a new travel document click +Add travel at the bottom of the section.

How to print out your User Profile / seafarer resume

You can print out a PDF version of all the information in your User Profile in a seafarer resume format. This is useful if you want to give it to employers or manning agents. Here's how to do it:

  • Click on the arrow icon at the top right of the screen (see image above.)
  • That will download a PDF document which will appear at the bottom of your screen and in your computer's Downloads folder.
  • Click on the document to open it. It will open up in a separate page which will have a printer icon at the top (see image below). Click on this to print your User Profile in a seafarer resume format out:

A few notes about your User Profile

  • Entering much of the above information is mandatory however you can choose not to enter certain information such as your social media accounts.
  • The information you enter in your profile helps you apply for jobs quickly and easily - once completed you won’t have to fill out all your details every time you apply for a vacancy.
