SMS Sikimic Marine Services

SMS Sikimic Marine Services is a manning agency from Herceg Novi, Gulf of Kotor on the south of the Adriatic coast in Montenegro. The agency is part of an ex-Yugoslavian maritime centre with a long and rich tradition. The SMS Manning Agency was founded in 1993 and has since been constantly developed both in the sense of the choice of seamen at their disposal and their management experience, resulting in a stable and reliable office.

The office was established and managed by Capt. Sikimic Spiro with a team of his selected dynamic and self-motivated assistants. Capt. Sikimic was born in Herceg-Novi, Gulf of Kotor, Montenegro in 1955, attended Maritime high school in Kotor from 1970, then graduated in 1974 and started as a Deck Officer Cadet with Jugooceanija Kotor on a general cargo ship.

He obtained a Deck Officer's License in 1975 at the school for Maritime Studies in Kotor. After one year’s service as a Deck Officer he began studies at a nautical college in Kotor which he completed in 1979. A one-year military service was completed in the navy in Pula and Split in  1979 and after that, Capt. Sikimic joined Ermefer, Geneva, as a Deck Officer on tanker vessels.

In 1980 Capt. Sikimic obtained his Master's License and joined Alpaca shipping, Monte Carlo as a Deck Officer on tanker vessels. From 1985 to 1987 he was employed in the Adriatic Shipyard Bijela, where he acquired experience in the shipyard business. From 1987 to 1993, Capt. Skimic was employed with Thome Shipmanagement and Grunstad Boca Raton in the position of Ch/Off and Master and in 1993 he started to own manning agency - Sikimic Marine Services, SMS Agency.

SMS enjoys a good choice of quality, experienced, reliable deck-engine officers and crew, and flying repair-maintenance teams for all types of vessels. In their cooperation with ship managers and owners, their policy is to propose for a required position only those candidates for whom they can guarantee will satisfy all the requirements and standards. SMS always take care that all candidates are thoroughly checked and carefully selected to meet ISM and STCW 95 requirements.
