Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and dedicated Auxiliary Crane Operators to join their crew aboard various vessels. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, contributing to cargo handling, and general shipboard duties. This position requires teamwork, adaptability, and adherence to maritime safety standards.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Operate auxiliary deck cranes for loading, unloading, and shifting cargo in compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct daily inspections of crane systems, including winches, wires, hooks, and controls, to ensure operational readiness.
• Assist in rigging and securing cargo, slings, and lifting gear to maintain balanced and safe load handling.
• Coordinate with deck crew, stevedores, and officers via radio communication to execute precise lifting operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on crane equipment to minimize downtime and extend service life.
• Monitor environmental conditions and adjust operations accordingly to prevent accidents in high-risk weather or sea states.
• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance logs as per company and maritime regulatory standards.
• Participate in emergency drills and support cargo handling procedures during shipboard emergencies or port inspections.
