Martide and our partners are seeking a reliable and experienced Doctor to join their onboard medical team. As a Doctor on a cruise ship or passenger ship, you will be responsible for providing primary and emergency medical care for crew and passengers, including diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Provide primary and emergency medical care for crew and passengers, including diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries.
• Respond to medical emergencies such as cardiac events, trauma, or serious infections, often as the first and only physician onboard.
• Maintain and manage the ship’s medical facility, including equipment, medications, and medical supplies.
• Conduct routine health checks and screenings for crew members, especially for fitness to work at sea.
• Keep accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with maritime, flag state, and international regulations.
• Oversee infection control protocols and ensure sanitary conditions onboard to prevent outbreaks.
• Support mental health and wellbeing of seafarers and passengers, providing counseling or referrals when needed.
• Deliver health and safety training to crew, such as first aid, CPR, and occupational health practices.
• Ensure compliance with maritime medical regulations, including SOLAS, MLC, and flag state requirements.
• Work closely with the ship’s captain and officers to manage medical aspects of crew welfare and passenger safety.
• Coordinate with shoreside medical services, arranging evacuations or referrals when specialized treatment is required.
