0 Fast Supply Intervention Vessel (FSIV) Seafarer Jobs

Fast Supply Intervention Vessels (FSIVs) are high-speed, multipurpose offshore support vessels primarily used to transport personnel, urgent cargo, tools, and spare parts between shore bases and offshore platforms or floating assets. These vessels are often equipped for day/night operations, dynamic positioning (DP), and limited intervention tasks. Due to their operational tempo and close coordination with offshore installations, FSIVs require competent, safety-oriented crew who are skilled in vessel handling, cargo operations, and client service delivery.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Master

• Hold overall responsibility for the safe navigation, operation, and crew welfare on the vessel.
• Maintain compliance with flag state regulations, client requirements, and company Safety Management Systems (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS).
• Liaise with offshore installation managers (OIMs), marine coordinators, and port authorities for smooth operations and logistics planning.
• Ensure the readiness of the vessel for fast response, safe passenger handling, and high-speed operations.
• Lead onboard drills, emergency procedures, and voyage reporting.

Chief Officer / Mate

• Assist the Master in vessel navigation and cargo operations; act as the vessel's safety officer.
• Supervise deck crew in loading/unloading cargo, securing supplies, and personnel boarding/disembarkation.
• Ensure cargo manifests are correct and all gear is secured in compliance with vessel and client procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and manage permit-to-work systems on deck.
• Monitor LSA/FFA equipment and support bridge operations as required.

Second Officer (if carried)

• Stand navigational watch, assist with voyage planning, and maintain bridge equipment and chart corrections.
• Monitor Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems and support safe vessel positioning near offshore assets.
• Keep bridge and cargo operations logs and assist with GMDSS communications.
• Assist with training and emergency preparedness.

Chief Engineer

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all propulsion, auxiliary, and electrical systems.
• Oversee high-speed engine systems (e.g., waterjets, high-RPM diesels) and ensure propulsion reliability under high-tempo operations.
• Monitor planned maintenance system (PMS), fuel consumption, and emissions control systems.
• Manage the engine room team and ensure technical compliance with class and statutory regulations.

Second Engineer

• Conduct daily machinery checks, engine room rounds, and routine servicing of key equipment.
• Monitor critical systems such as fuel systems, hydraulics, HVAC, and cooling circuits.
• Support Chief Engineer in diagnostics, breakdowns, and machinery record-keeping.
• Supervise engine ratings and assist with spare parts inventory.

Third Engineer (if carried)

• Operate auxiliary systems and support with daily checks, lubrication, and machinery monitoring.
• Maintain oil purifiers, generators, and sewage/wastewater systems.
• Assist with bunkering operations and documentation.

ETO / Electrician

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including switchboards, alarms, DP interface, and nav/comms equipment.
• Ensure lighting, communications, and emergency backup systems are operational.
• Support engine and bridge teams with diagnostics and repairs of sensors, controls, and automation systems.

Deck Crew (Bosun, ABs, OSs)

• Assist with mooring, fender deployment, and cargo operations including lifting, securing, and pallet transfer.
• Maintain deck cleanliness and safety, assist with cargo lashing and material handling equipment.
• Support passenger embarkation/disembarkation with attention to safety and client service.
• Participate in drills, safety meetings, and maintenance routines.

Engine Ratings (Oilers, Wipers)

• Support engineers with machinery operations, logkeeping, and engine room cleanliness.
• Carry out filter changes, lubrication, and assist with fuel and oil transfers.
• Help maintain emergency systems including bilge, fire pump, and backup power.

Common Responsibilities for All Crew

• Ensure the vessel is kept in a constant state of operational and safety readiness.
• Follow all client-specific safety protocols and participate in drills such as man-overboard, fire, and abandon ship.
• Maintain high standards of service and communication with offshore clients and passengers.
• Uphold environmental protection standards and company operational procedures.
