Martide and our partners are seeking experienced and technically skilled Reefer Repairers to join their engineering teams aboard various cargo ships. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the ship's refrigerated containers and cooling systems. The Reefer Repairer is responsible for the performance of refrigeration units used for cargo preservation.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Inspect refrigerated containers (reefers) regularly to identify faults, damages, or performance issues.
• Carry out repairs on reefer units, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, gasket replacement, and leak detection.
• Support reefer electricians and technicians by handling basic repair and servicing work.
• Test and verify reefer functionality after repair to ensure proper operation before and during voyages.
• Check and replace spare parts (e.g., compressors, fans, wiring, or sensors) under supervision.
• Document repairs and maintenance activities for reporting to supervising engineers or officers.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures when working with refrigeration equipment and electrical systems.
• Assist in monitoring reefer temperatures and alarms during cargo operations and voyages.
• Provide on-call support for urgent repair needs to prevent cargo damage.
