Martide’s partners are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Welders to join the engineering teams aboard their ships. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the ship's mechanical integrity, supporting the smooth operation of structures and machinery components. The Welder is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining essential components such as pipes, valves, pumps, and other mechanical parts critical to ship operations.

Key responsibilities generally include:

• Perform welding, brazing, and cutting operations on metal structures, piping systems, and machinery components onboard the vessel.
• Assist in the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of steel structures, bulkheads, tanks, and hull plating as directed by the Chief Engineer.
• Use arc, MIG, TIG, and gas welding equipment in accordance with safety standards and shipboard procedures.
• Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections of welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with classification standards.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to execute accurate repair and fabrication tasks.
• Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting parts to specification.
• Collaborate with engineering and deck departments to support structural repairs during voyage, dry-docking, or port stays.
• Maintain welding tools, machines, and PPE in good working condition; report any defects or safety concerns.
• Work in confined spaces, heights, or other challenging environments while observing strict safety protocols.
• Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance work, and materials used, in line with company policies and maritime regulations.
