NFR Reason
In Martide you can set a status for each seafarer so you and your users know what their relationship is with your company.
Statuses are: Active, Medical, Unavailable, Left, Retired, and NFR (Not For Rehire.) You can also add a reason why you have set a seafarer to NFR.
Where to find NFR Reasons
Log into your Martide account. Click Settings under your profile icon and on NFR Reason:
You will go to this page:
Here you can:
- See your NFR Reasons.
- Search your NFR Reasons using the search box at the top of the page.
- Add a new NFR Reason by clicking the NFR Reason button.
- Sort your NFR Reasons from A-Z or Z-A by clicking the arrow next to Reason.
How to add a new NFR Reason
Click the Add NFR Reason button. You will see this pop-up box:
Enter the reason why you don’t want to rehire a seafarer in the NFR Reason box. For example:
Click Save. The reason now appears on the main page:
How to edit or delete a NFR Reason

How to change a seafarer's status to NFR
Go to the Seafarer page by clicking on Seafarers in the menu on the left:
Note that the default view is to only show Active seafarers. To show other types of seafarer (Unavailable, NFR, Retired etc.) click the funnel icon at the top:
You will see this filter menu:
Scroll down the menu to Status:
Click the arrow next to Status and you will see this:
Select the statuses of the non-active seafarers you want to see by choosing one of the other statuses in the Master status drop down menu.
To add a NFR reason to a seafarer, click their name to go to their profile:
Go to the Status section. For example, this seafarer's Master Status is set to Active now:
We want to change the seafarer's status to NFR as he was intoxicated on his last vessel. TClick the current status (Active) and select NFR:
Click NFR and the Master Status will change:
Under the Master Status you will see NFR Reason. Currently we haven’t selected a reason. You don’t have to, but if you want to choose one, click the Reason box. That opens a list of your reasons:
We selected Under the Influence. It now appears in that seafarer's profile:
If you've used a NFR Reason, because the default view on the main Seafarers page is to only show Active seafarers, you won't see them anymore unless you use the Status Filter and select NFR.
What is Master Status?
Master Status is a candidate or seafarer's relationship with the employer. Candidates can be Applicant or Rejected. Seafarers can be Active, Unavailable, Left, Retired or NFR. You can set the status using the drop down arrow in their profile, as above.
