Assembly

In Martide you will find a feature called Assembly. This lets you create a template add your logo and format it in any way you want. You can then download the file to your computer. This is useful for any type of document you want to save as a template: CV’s contracts onboard reports etc.

Where to find Assembly

To get started log in to your Martide account. Click on Settings in the menu under your profile picture and then on Assembly:

That will take you to a page that looks like this:

Here you can:

  • Add a new template by clicking the +Add Template button.
  • See the templates in your system. You will always see the Default Onboard Report Default Seafarer CV and Default Questionnaire Response templates. You can download these but you can’t edit them.
  • Edit or delete any templates you have created by clicking the pen icon and delete it by clicking the trash can icon.
  • Download any of your templates by clicking the download arrow icon.

How to add a new template

Click the +Add Template button at the top of the page (see image above.)

That will show you this pop-up box:

Here you can:

  • Enter the name of your template.
  • Upload or drag and drop the file from your computer that you want to use as a template. Note: Files must be Word documents.

For example:

Click Save. Your new template will now appear on the main Assembly page:

How to download a template

To download any of your templates click the download arrow next to it. In our example we are going to download the Default Seafarer CV Template:

When you click the download icon the template will appear at the bottom of your screen as a Word DOCX document. Click on it to open the template.

When you open the Default Seafarer CV Template you will see something like this:

You will see that the logo we have used in our example is the Google logo but you will want to upload your company’s!

How to download a seafarer’s profile as a CV

You can download a seafarer’s profile as a CV in your preferred format with your logo on it. Here’s how to do that.

Go to the profile page of the seafarer whose CV you want to download and click on the 3 dots at the top of the page:

Click on Document Assembly in the drop down menu. You will see this pop-up box. Click the template you want to use:

The Word DOCX document will appear at the bottom of your screen like it did with the default template. Click on it and you will see that the information from the seafarer’s profile has been extracted into the document:

How to create a template

A couple of notes about templates:

  • Templates must be created in a Word document.
  • You can add as many templates to the system as you like.

Here’s how to create a new template:

  • Open a new Word document.
  • Insert your logo.
  • Format the document - for example with boxes.
  • Insert template tags - for example {{ seafarer_first_name }} or {{ contract_title }} or {{ vessel_name }} (See the image of the Default Seafarer CV above).

Let's say you want to create a template for your Onboard Reports. Format your template accordingly and add the template tags to the document.

Then go to Vessels click on a vessel’s name and click the On Board tab on the vessel’s profile:

Now on the On Board page click on the down arrow at the top of the page and then on Assembly in the drop down menu:

When you click Assembly you will see the pop-up box that we saw before and you can select your template:

Select your template and the system will replace its template tags with relevant information and the file will be downloaded to your computer for you to save or print.
