The Seafarer Pools feature has been designed to help employers and manning agents be more organized by creating groups that contain specific seafarers. Here’s how to use this feature.
How to use Seafarer Pools
Log in to your Martide account and click on Settings in the drop down menu under your profile picture and then on Seafarer Pools:
You will go to this page. We haven't created any Pools yet:
Here you can:
- See, edit and delete your current Seafarer Pools.
- See how many active seafarers are in that Pool.
- Create a new Seafarer Pool by clicking the blue +Add Pool button at the top.
- Sort your Seafarer Pools from A-Z or Z-A by clicking the 3 lines next to Name
How to add a new Seafarer Pool
Click the blue +Add Pool button. You will see a pop-up box that looks like this:
Here you can:
- Enter the name of your Seafarer Pool.
- Select the seafarers in your database who you want to add to it. You can add as many people as you like. They will appear in the drop down menu when you click on the box:
Click Save when you’re finished adding seafarers to that pool. The new pool will appear on the main Seafarer Pool page:
How to add seafarers to a pool from their profile
If you have added a candidate to a pool it will show in their seafarer profile. We just added Allie Weimann to our Deck Crew Pool. If we go to Allie's profile, you can see that information now appears on his page under the Statuses section:
You can also add a seafarer to a pool by editing their profile. To do this click + Add pool (see above) and you will see a drop down menu that lists all your current seafarer pools. Select the one(s) you want to add the seafarer to and it will appear in their profile:
You can remove a seafarer from the Pool by clicking the X under the Pools they are in - see above, next to the name of the pool - in this case, Deck Crew.
How to edit or delete a Seafarer Pool
On the main Seafarer Pool page go to the pool you want to change or remove. To edit it, click the pen icon and to delete it, click the trash can icon:
If you click the pen you will be taken back to the original pool where you can change the name and add or remove seafarers:
If you click Delete you will see a pop-up message asking you if you’re sure you want to delete the pool. Click OK to delete it and Cancel if it was an error.
How to filter your Seafarer Pools
Your pools are displayed in alphabetical or numerical order (depending on how you name them) i.e. from A-Z or from 1-10:
To display them the other way around - i.e. from Z-A, click the 3 lines next to Name (see the image above) and it will re-order the Pools:
And that’s it! We hope you found this guide to Seafarer Pools for shipowners and crew managers useful. If you’d like to know more about your candidates’ profiles, take a look at this page here. Meanwhile you might also find the How to Create a Job Vacancy guide useful.
